NHS text follow up message

March 25, 2020  |  by Nicola Conwill-Brittain

A text designed for people in at risk groups was sent to patients registered at GP practices across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire yesterday (24/03/2020).

Following this Dr. Thilan Bartholomeuz NHS Clinical Lead and local GP said:

“Our advice to local people is to follow government advice and stay home.

“This week NHS services will be contacting people with a range of severe health conditions urging them to self-isolate for 12 weeks. In the meantime we have texted all local patients to underline the government advice about staying home and explain that some patients will receive more detailed advice about their health condition soon.

“Many patients who receive the text will not be in an at-risk category and we apologise if this was unclear from our text message. Please do not contact your GP about the message.

“We would urge people to follow government advice and avoid social contact unless completely necessary. By staying home you can help protect our NHS and stay safe and well.”
